Food great but, at these prices, having a mere 6 inch gap between tables is ridiculous. Conversation is virtually impossible the noise being the only thing that aids any confidentiality......that is, unless you speak loud enough to be heard by your companion!

Always a good steak done the correct way. Don’t expect to have an intimate or business discussion because the tables are pretty close, but at least you can “sample” what others are having. They have an interesting serving system with multiple hand-offs which seem a little strange for a smaller place, but it seems to work-don’t expect to make a new friend. But we go for the steaks and the sides don’t disappoint either. Everyone I have taken there always comes away with “that was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten in London” quote.

Excellent food and service. Wonderful wine to accompany. Old fashioned service such a pleasant change. Will be back very soon.

Great pies but the format has changed in recent years as they are now served in a dish so its only pastry on the top and not the sides . Maybe for health reason that makes sense. Wonderful ale house.

Super place , lots of charm with a fantastic original pub and small rear restaurant which has a lovely buzz. Traditional but well cooked and very good feeling about the place . In a news just off Berkeley square with lots of space to stand out side in good weather.
