Also I’ve frequented the place many times and never been treated in such an awful manner!! I advise all one and all to find somewhere else to eat!!!
My wife and I stayed at the Colonnade Hotel and decided to dine at the restaurant next door on June 24th, 2023. Unfortunately, we were met with a very unfriendly and aggressive server. After waiting 15 minutes, he refused to serve us when we only ordered a pizza and salad, claiming that we needed to order for two people according to the restaurant policy. When I asked to see the policy, he had nothing in writing to show me. I then requested to speak to the owner, to which he replied that he was the owner. When I asked about a website, he claimed they didn't have one. Not only did he lie about the website, but without a written policy, it's unacceptable to deny service. This short, round-faced man's behavior was completely disrespectful. As a seasoned global traveler of 45 years, I have never experienced such rudeness. I hope appropriate action is taken against him.
My partner, our young child, and I went to have a late lunch at this restaurant. It was completely empty when we arrived. The staff were very impolite and unpleasant. They didn't have a kids menu, and required us to order a main dish for each person, which we found to be unacceptable. The atmosphere was unwelcoming as soon as we walked in. I strongly advise against dining here. The owners seem to be only concerned with making money.
This neighborhood restaurant is the perfect spot for a casual family dinner that is budget-friendly.
I booked a table on line with The Red Pepper. I received a confirmation from the restaurant also another from Google. On the day of the booking I received a reminder from the restaurant which I confirmed. However when we arrived I was told I didn’t have a booking although it was clearly on my phone. There was no apology or any attempt to resolve the problem. When I asked ‘ So does this mean we won’t be getting dinner then?’the waitress said’Yes’ I’ve been to this restaurant many times over the years and never had such a terrible experience. From what I’ve read in other reviews I’m not even sure there’s any point ringing the manager (who apparently wasn’t in on a Friday night) as he sounds rude as well. What a shame!!
