The Saint don 't seem to be aware of TopTable! We said we had a TopTable reservation only to be told that they didn 't take TopTable bookings. When I showed them our booking email, they said Oh, is that the one where you get 50% off? I should have said yes but didn 't. They explained that they weren 't really a restaurant, which had become clear, but they did have a menu which we could look at. It was actually quite good. Most of the tables weren 't laid for meals but we found one where we could manage. I ordered drinks at the bar and another waitress took our food order at the table. The meals, a fish pie and trio of sausages, were excellent.
A clean-lined, right-angled place that doesn't offend nor amaze.
I had lunch at The Saint with a colleague and we both had salads chicken caesar and crayfish. Both were very generous and quite tasty but the crayfish salad had a bit too much lettuce and a very wet dressing! The service was friendly but we had to ask for the bill as our plates had been taken and we were then left for quite a while. We had a really nice outdoor table close to Paternoster Square and we would go back.
Sitting out anywhere around St Pauls is fabulous. This adds to the experience. Food is pretty simple but excellent selection of tasty salads for guilt free lunching.
