We had a lovely Sunday lunch at The Wharf. Food and service were excellent. We thought the Jazz was great but needed to be turned down a bit as it was hard to hear each other at times. Thank you!
2nd time to The Wharf, food and wine was delicious. Given how quiet it was however, the service was lacking. We were one of about 4 tables which was a shame for the lovely jazz singer.
Beautiful setting by the river and perfect for a relaxed lunch. The service was friendly and polite but fairly slow and not very proactive (glasses not cleared, table set for 6 even though we’d changed it to 5, water not topped up). Hadn’t been for a couple of years and prices have clearly shot up. The food was lovely but very overpriced.
Lovely riverside location, glass enclosed eating area makes it very light and airy, and on the day we went there was very pleasant live guitar music. All in all, a very relaxing ambience. The food was OK but certainly not outstanding and overpriced a plate of pasta with a veggie sauce came in at £27.50, and the dessert of ‘frozen berries and sorbet’ was as described and no more the fruit was solid and tasteless (it looked like a lump of frozen smoothie fruits from a supermarket pack) with a scoop of pleasant enough sorbet plonked on top. This was refunded when I complained, but nevertheless disappointing. So in sum we enjoyed the atmosphere on a sunny August afternoon but would not return for the food.
