Golden Grill Newark - London Rd, Newark

Have been long time customers of Golden Grill and have never had an issue until this evening. They claimed the delivery driver had tried to make a delivery and yes, we ignored a call from an unknown mobile number at one point but didn’t hear him knock at the door (we have a dog who barks at any noise outside and she didn’t even stir). Then once we’d spoken to them they claimed the driver was outside. I was stood looking out of the window and there was no sign of a car. Rang to cancel the order and they tried to blame us and then repeatedly put the phone down on us. Shocking customer service and we won’t be using them again, which is a real shame because we’ve used them pretty much on a weekly basis since they opened.

Sadly a very disappointing service this evening. We are regular customers and have always been very happy with the service. Delivery didn’t arrive. The delivery driver did call( there had been no knock at the door and delivery was late so we were listening out! and I didn’t answer as didn’t recognise the number. If anyone opens our gate the dog barks.Our house number is well lit up so fail to see why delivery driver couldn’t see us and they’ve delivered to us for at least the past 4 years!! Apparently the failure to deliver was my fault for not picking the call up. Several calls direct to the takeaway where I remained calm and wanted to cancel delivery and was cut off twice! I am really disappointed as would think that being a regular customer would warrant having a conversation rather than being told they’re too busy to talk. No longer will we be using you and will take our business to Angells fishery. Clearly a regular customer counts for nothing with golden grill. Disappointed

This take away is by far!! The BEST in Newark. I've never had any issues with there food. It's always been hot, delicious and delivered on time usually by friendly delivery drivers. It's even better than my wife's cooking but don't tell her that. I reccomend the a portion of Cod and regular chips. . .the portion size is HUGE. I manage but with the help of an undone button my jeans. Service: Take out
