A&W Restaurant - London

Tried the classic Bacon and Egg breakfast with a side of pancakes today. The eggs and toast where good. The bacon, was it bacon or a dry piece of thin wood? The pancakes where not fluffy but flat and dry it was like eating dry pieces of cardboard. And do not get me started about the coffee tasteless and cold. You are wondering why I did not complain directly to the staff, it is because they appear to not care and my feeling is, it is not there fault as they are getting poor quality food from the head office.

We have been to this restaurant a few times with no issues. Yesterday decided to go there for the Canadian Breakfast. Started to feel not well by afternoon. Ended up with vomiting and diarrhea which could only be food poisoning as other than that I was fine. I think it might have been the sausages with the breakfast.

I always enjoy A&W burgers and this restaurant doesn't disappoint. But the location is fairly small so its not easy to find a table.

September 18/2019 I was there for supper around 8:00 pm. I must say I was quite disappointed at a particular staff talking to another staff named Ryan working at the back. She said, “Do you mind not talking about me to other staff? Just do your job. Ryan said, “Everyone hates me.” Then with a sarcastic tone she went on to say,” Why don’t you make some onion rings since you are so good at your job!” There was me and another customer at the front. She is definitely in need of some communication skills and approached him the wrong way. She did not deal with the situation in confidence and did not care who was listening. Needless to say I almost felt like leaving. I did not feel the atmosphere was friendly and the tension amongst staff made me feel uncomfortable. I also saw one of the front line staff drop a stack of cups and put them back with the other clean cups. If this helps at all it was cashier 200. Just a suggestion..... to have a staff meeting to discuss conflict resolution, respect, and confidentiality around customers.

We ordered the mozzarella burgers, fries, and onion rings. It was the best burger I've had in a long time, and I also love A&W's onion rings - you can't go wrong with them. It was quicker than going home after shopping and starting up the barbecue. The restaurant was clean and nice, so we'll definitely be visiting again.
