I attempted to call them multiple times, only to be ignored or have the call disconnected. I would rather spend my money at a place that values customer service.
I hadn't ordered from this restaurant in a while, but recently decided to order a dinner for three and two wonton soups. After spending over $50 and getting home, I was shocked to see the small portions in Styrofoam containers. The food barely fed the three of us, whereas we used to have plenty of leftovers in the past. Times can be tough, but this is not a way to keep a loyal paying customer.
I really enjoy dining at Dragon Gate, but I am disappointed that they still use styrofoam containers. Not only is this harmful to the environment, but the containers also cause the juices to leak out of the food. The egg foo young is tasty, but it becomes dry due to the leakage at the bottom of the bag every time. It would be worth spending a few extra cents to invest in better containers. It is frustrating that I may have to consider dining elsewhere. The third time I ordered, the bag leaked and made a mess with no juice left on the food.
The food was great and hot. Sauces tasted homemade mainly the lemon sauce. Most places are too thick and sweet this I could drink is so good! Much variety on your menu. Hard to get a hold of while Covid stay at home Lock down, but yes they are definitely open. Call four. Her Kon Po Chicken or Beef is also great.
After being a regular delivery order customer from Dragon Gate for many years, I’m sad to say that I’m done with them. They were closed for months on end I guess due to COVID. That was bad enough. But to make up for their losses, they are skimping on ingredients. I ordered two orders of Honey-Garlic Wings. THERE WASN’T ANY HONEY OR GARLIC IN THE SAUCE. THEY SUBSTITUTED IT FOR WON-TON SOUP BROTH and it tasted like pork. When I called to complain, and to explain there WASN’T ANY HONEY OR GARLIC IN THE SAUCE, she insisted this is how they’ve always done it and if they re-delivered the sauce, it would be the same thing. If you’re business suffered due to the shutdown, don’t skimp on ingredients. Put sufficient honey and garlic in there and I would have been understanding to have to pay an extra dollar or two. As it stands, I’m stuck with twelve wings with no sauce that cost $1.50 for each wing. What a rip-off.
