I did place a takeout order, and some might say that’s the reason for the difference, but I always order takeout and have never had a sub from Firehouse that felt mediocre by the time I got to my destination, which is usually about five minutes away. This time, the meat seemed a bit less hot and fresh, possibly just due to the time of night. I’ll definitely go back, as it might have just been a one-off experience.
I decided to try a sub from Firehouse tonight, and I have to say, I was really disappointed. First off, the sub was soggy all the way through. On one side, there was four times the amount of meat compared to the other side, and the meat was positioned far from the ends, making it feel like I was just eating a pile of meat on a small section of the sub. To top it off, the pickle looked like someone had already taken a bite out of it! Overall, the experience was terrible, and the sub didn’t even taste good. I ordered the Italian sub, in case anyone is curious. I won't be returning, and I will definitely share my experience with others. It's so disappointing because I had high hopes.
I really enjoy Firehouse Subs, but I need to address some issues with your online ordering system and payment options. I've encountered problems multiple times when trying to place an order online—either the system doesn’t work, my debit card is rejected for no clear reason, or the store doesn't receive my order even after it goes through successfully online. This has been incredibly frustrating. I prefer ordering online because I understand that it takes time to prepare good food—after all, great meals shouldn't be rushed, and I truly appreciate that. However, I really urge you to improve your online ordering process.
Sub was good but when I called to pick up an order at 8:35pm for pickup 10 minutes later they told me they couldn't do it for some reason because they closed at 9pm. I then went in and got my sub, asked for two pickles and both my girlfriend and I got zero pickles. One of my favourite parts of the meal! :
For two subs (1 combo and 1 sandwich) $38 is pretty high. Especially when the bread tastes old. If you go on the right day you get a good quality sub. If not, you’re left spending money in something SUB-par.
