There is a lot of sushi, udon noodles, rice bowls, and ramen. For beverages beer, wine, and sake are available; as well as soda, orange juice, and iced tea. One thing caught my eye: Kobe sashimi. I ordered this, and my mouth salivated during the wait. This is a famous type of beef grown in Japan, similar to Wagyu beef. Unfortunately, this was just sashimi in the style of Kobe the city in Japan. There was no Kobe beef. The sashimi came with miso soup and a small salad. Then, I ordered some spicy seafood udon noodles. This dish was a soup and it was… amazing. The spicy broth was a deep red, and within it were shrimp, mussels, grated carrots, and scallions. The udon were long and chewy in a really good way. Their dessert menu had three options. Ice cream, merona, or green tea cheesecake. I picked the cheesecake. It was pastel green. I didn’t taste the green tea at all, but it had a light, sweet flavour. My bill came to only $57. I was pleased. Gozen is a special bistro here in London. They serve their foodies only the best.
Food was very delicious and fresh. (We ordered Crispy Spicy Tuna sushi, Crispy Spicy Salmon sushi, and Shrimp Tempora Combo) Staff behaved so friendly and welcoming. We will come again to taste other dishes.
This restaurant serves the best sushi in the city, by far. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. My favorite is the yellowtail roll, which is uniquely delicious. The service is friendly and efficient.
We stopped by for a quick lunch and ordered a sushi meal and a sashimi meal. The salad was fresh and well seasoned, and the miso soup was good. The sashimi was very fresh and thickly cut, but the sushi was only average. The rice was not as moist or chewy as other places, so the nigiri experience was lacking. The service was fine, however, the restaurant would benefit from updating its interior furniture. The bench we sat on had large tears in the pleather cushion. While I'm sure the restaurant is clean, damaged furniture raises concerns about cleanliness.
Fish quality was amazing but whats even greater was how well the sushi was cut and the perfect amount of rice. The maki rolls are also full of flavour. I would say its one of the best quality of sushi Ive had in a while. Price is very economical for the quality of food. Their tempura was also great. Service was also superb. Store got a little busier after we sat down. Food came out in great time but I think the owner or one of the workers came and apologized for the delay and offered us free drinks which we had to decline as the wait was not long at all. But we appreciate the great customer service and thought.
