Basil's Cafe - Long Beach

What a gem. Came here because I needed a light and refreshing lunch after a seafood heavy dinner the night before. Staff was so sweet and service was excellent. Best nom tok pork I’ve had yet and the beef salad was a winner, too. Too hot for me to commit to a full bowl of pho, so I tried a small side of their beef broth and it was stunning. Got a honeydew smoothie and a Thai tea for the road. 100% worth the drive from Bay St. Louis or wherever nearby place you’re staying.

Basil's cuisines are absolutely amazing! Such a variety of Thai and Vietnamese food, there is something for everyone. I order from Basil's 2 4 times per month. The food is always amazing. The portions are not consistent one time you get a full meal in normal containers, the next time you'll get the same meal in a small rice container. Not all of the girls have the best attitude, their tone and demeanor is uncomfortable (and both have been a long standing, consistent issue) when ordering picking up take out. If you've experienced that, just keep coming back! The food is worth it!! And when an owner/manager is there, the atmosphere is amazing and the food is always correct!

Waitresses have an attitude when you ask them something about the meat supposed to be brisket but was mainly fat!!!! And the chicken didn 't taste right to my daughter!!! The waitress got offended and was absolutely no help on helping in anyway at all!!! I called and a waitress answered who was also no help and said no one was there to help me after I asked to speak to a manager. She said she didn 't know when the manager would be back she said sometime tmrw the waitress we had, had no concern at all about the meat tasting bad!! We 've been here prior and had a bad experience but we were willing to give it another chance, but NOPE ANOTHER disappointment!!! Horrible service horrible meat horrible customer service!!!! A total waste of money! $65 on food we didn 't really eat!!!! The bobas were good at least lol!!! Not the best we 've had but ok. Worst Pho ever!!

I was so excited to find pho during my time on the coast. I went for lunch and had the eye round steak pho. It was delicious. I can't wait to go back and try other dishes at this place.

I look forward all week to our Sunday night Basil's dinner. Most weeks I want it more than just Sunday. It may be my favorite place since moving here. Selfishly, I do wish they would move to Bay St. Louis, but we usually get it delivered. My go-to's are the green and red curries. I have ventured off of the curries several times and have loved every dish I've tried. They have substantial Thai and Vietnamese menus.
