Contribuisci feedbackOkay food but portions are not Filipino family style, so just be aware of that. Also, some of the dishes were over salted. We went here for lunch/brunch and will probably not come back. However, I would be curious to try their dinner menu.Food: 3/5
Excellent food choices, both of us had fish, in tacos, or on top of our salad. Preparation was good (Seared on tacos), lightly seasoned salmon steak on top of salad. Waitress seemed a little frazzled, and forgot about us a couple times. Both inside and outside seating. Part of LBX, which has a great area for kids/adults to sit/play around outside of venue. It's hard to find places like this that have that type of setting. 4.6 Stars. (Too hungry to remember to take photos)
Our party: We were a party of five dining at ReMix Kitchen Bar for dinner on Saturday night, June 3, celebrating a B'day.Bottom Line: It was an amazing experience. If you haven't tried it yet, make a reservation now. You deserve it. Top notch service, ambiance, food and flavor quality, and overall vibe. The portions are generous and we still demolished everything. There was not one morsel left on any plate from any course.Atmosphere and service: The servers are knowledgeable, personable, and extremely professional. Everything felt easy, comfortable, and friendly. The entire team makes each party feel that your group is the focus of the restaurant's attention and that they have in mind how they can make the experience the best it can possibly be for you. The vibe is modern, trendy, and intimate without pretense. There is a beautiful patio with heat lamps and seating inside for both large and small parties. Tip: Make sure you have a reservation because it's not a large space. Example: They were fully booked for Mother's Day so get those reservation requests in early for prime dining times.Come here for: date night, celebrations (B'day, Anniversary, Graduation, Bachelorette, etc. , lunch, dinner, and weekend brunchFood reflections:Important Note: Use the menu photo I've included in this review. They recently launched a new menu, and it's not yet been updated on their website.Round One: For appetizers, we shared the Tuna Tostadas, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, and Shrimp Lumpia. All the flavors and textures are fresh, vibrant, and unique. The Brussels were crunchy, with an elegant umami from the sauce and fresh peanuts, and there was a delightful citrus kick from juicy fresh orange chunks. I could probably live on the Tostadas for the rest of my life and die happy. It's such a delicate flavor and texture balance. The spice- encrusted seared tuna sashimi slices are unctuous and pair in perfect harmony with a creamy avocado mousse, picked onions and radishes, and fresh microgreens, with a spicy kick from the sriracha aioli. Order these. Best decision you will make all day. And, yes, there are two to an order, so you could technically share, but you won't want to, no matter how much you love the other person, ha! They are that good. The Shrimp Lumpias are extremely addictive. Long, thin, satisfyingly dip-able in the creamy and chivy sauce on which they are plated. Comfort food at its finest without making you feel weighed down. These will brighten your spirits for sure.Round Two: For course two we ordered the Vegetable Pancit, Chittara Bolognese...AND, we need to pause for a minute on these two pasta dishes to note that ALL of the pasta at ReMix is freshly made on site. Seriously, it's a rare and beautiful treat. I've been to two authentic Italian restaurants recently and even they aren't making their pasta in house. You can taste the difference and considering all the work that goes into that, the price ReMix is charging for the plates is an absolute deal. We also ordered the Prime Flat Iron Steak, Salmon, and the Natural Pork Chop. The proteins were juicy, seasoned perfectly, and paired with divine elements like polenta triangles, Romesco sauce, crunchy spring veggies, and the pork chop even had a blackberry demi-glace and blackberry garnishes.Finale: You can't leave without trying these two desserts: Banana Turon and the Tropical Verrine. You really need to order both. They pair extremely well. The table next to us was a course behind us and asked us about our desserts and immediately ordered them, too! There is a great balance of the yumminess you want from a dessert, combined with creaminess from the coconut panna cotta in the Verrine and the banana center of the Turon, and then refreshing elements in the sorbet and passion fruit coulis in the Verrine and fresh berries of the Turon dish. And, honestly, I wish I could have taken home a hummus tub's worth of that ube mousse.Thank you, Remix Kitchen Bar, for an unforgettable evening. See you again
Atmosphere is dope. Decor brings a nostalgic feel, but everything is modern. Love that they have a dedicated women's restroom and gender neutral restroom. Way too keep up with the times. Service: just/ waiter/ bar tender is super cool and chill and makes you feel welcome. Food is good, like any restaurant they have some good items and other great. More on the great side. The good stuff is a bit salty but still yummy. Recommendation: Chicharon is bomb! Dip in the vinegar sauce and fire!!!!!
I recently visited ReMix Kitchen in Long Beach, and unfortunately, my group and I were disappointed with our meal. I had previously dined at Mix Mix when they were in downtown Santa Ana and had always enjoyed their food, so I was excited to try their new location. However, with the exception of the albacore tostadas, which were as good as I remembered them to be, the food was underwhelming at best and terrible at worst. We ordered the carbonara, bolognese, seafood pasta, and loco moco, but only the bolognese was somewhat enjoyable. The seafood pasta had an extremely sour taste to it, making it the most unpleasant pasta dish I've ever had. The carbonara and loco moco were also underwhelming, which was disappointing because the loco moco seemed to have promising ingredients but was ultimately a letdown. On the positive side, the service was friendly and attentive, which helped to soften the blow of the disappointing meal. However, based on the food alone, we won't be coming back here. It's a shame because we loved the original Mix Mix, but this new location falls far short of that standard.
