Strollo's Lighthouse - Long Branch

My favorite Italian ice soft ice cream place for 40 years!

I ordered a mix of vanilla frozen custard and root beer freeze, which I usually enjoy, but the vanilla frozen custard was absolutely unappetizing. It didn’t taste like real dairy at all, and its gummy texture was quite unappealing. The root beer freeze was okay, but the vanilla custard was genuinely revolting.

I absolutely adore this restaurant! Whenever I'm in Jersey, I always make sure to stop by. My all-time favorite location is the one in Long Branch. There's a place out here on the island that everyone talks about, which starts with an 'M,' but honestly, it doesn't even compare to the Lighthouse.

I'm not the biggest fan of strollo's because they don't serve hard ice-cream. But they have alot of great toppings for your soft ice-cream. I never tried their Italian ice, so I can't comment on that. The place is always packed though.

The ice and soft serve are extremely soft. By the time you pay for it, it's already melted. Both taste kind of watered down in flavor. The good things are that they're not overly sweet and the location is close to the beach for an easy walk to get some.
