We also tried a burger with sweet potato waffle fries (a must-try) and a delightful root vegetable salad that had a lovely balance of sweetness and a light dressing. The restaurant boasts a beautiful beer garden that's perfect for private events. Overall, I would definitely come back to this place to try more items from the menu!
Our outdoor experience was even worse; we were plagued by two yellow jackets that seemed to have taken a liking to our table. The servers seemed utterly indifferent, merely watching the situation unfold without taking any action to help us. It would have been nice if they had at least offered us another table! The relentless presence of the yellow jackets was incredibly frustrating, especially since several employees clearly noticed what was happening. While I realize that this may not be a reflection of the overall experience, I felt compelled to voice my concerns. This restaurant had a solid reputation for good food and service, but I must say it has been on a downward trend lately.
This is a lovely local restaurant with a charming rustic atmosphere. The service was excellent. The only downside was that the corn chowder soup was served lukewarm, but it was still quite tasty. I ordered the Carolina burger, and it was cooked just the way I liked it. The sweet potatoes were delicious. The shrimp tacos were a bit spicy for my wife, but I thought they were flavorful. I look forward to returning.
This place is great! the burgers are excellent. the terrace is amazing. this is a super cozy place with a relaxed atmosphere. there is a huge beer garden. the kitchen smell delicious, the barkeepers were friendly and attentive. the bad situation (too few) is less than ideal, but this is not a big thing. I would definitely come back to have another meal here. I take a star away because we tried to get drinks at the bar and it was too full to get everything. I wish the rear terrace bar was open as there was a lot during the happy hour.
Quite a rare surprise behind the sleepy, virtually incognito, facade! While the Voodoo salmon sandwich was almost too mildly spiced (yet full flavored and carefully prepared to feature the fresh fish), the magic of the peach and melted brie grilled cheese sandwich was pure magic (with the superb bread and blueberry preserves used as a perfect summer condiment). The outdoor dining area is perfect on a not-too-hot summer day and the home made potato chips were good enough to take home! I'll be back many times to come!
