Despite trying to call the restaurant all day to make a reservation, I later discovered from their Instagram story that they had unexpectedly closed for the day without any notice. I sent an email requesting a reservation as their website suggests, but no one ever responded. With these issues, it would not surprise me if the restaurant ended up closing down. However, I decided to give it a second chance three years later and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was exceptional and showed a high level of skill in its execution. We tried the mushroom, beef, and pork empanadas, with each one being delicious in our order of preference. The zucchini carpaccio was also a standout dish. Although we missed out on trying the focaccia, my partner really enjoyed the skirt steak. The rigatoni was very satisfying and the portion size was just right for me after the first course. The only issue we had was that our drinks took a long time to arrive, only coming halfway through our first course. Despite multiple apologies from our server and possibly the owner, the drinks were eventually comped. I was impressed with my Oaxacan Old Fashion cocktail and appreciated when the bartender knew exactly what I was looking for. While I initially found R40 to be overpriced during my first visit, I now believe it is priced appropriately for the quality of the food and service.
I had an incredible time at this restaurant! The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was exceptional. The standout dishes were the winter truffled pasta and swordfish steak with caponata and salsa verde. I traveled from Miami just to try this restaurant and I highly recommend it. I will definitely be returning.
I have found my new favorite spot. The staff here is incredible and gave fantastic suggestions for both food and drinks. I will definitely be returning!
Not sure why this place isn’t packed every night. Going back every chance I’m in town. Priced right. Wine superb. Food phenomenal. Service great. And vibe on point. 5 stars.
This place is world class, it could be anywhere in the world thankfully it’s here in the heart of LIC. I was lucky enough to be here with a large group, there were 5 of us. We got to taste mostly everything on the menu. Cani just say that the Choripán was the most savory appetizer I’ve had in the last 3 months, GET IT. We also had the meat and cheeseboard, the empanadas and this delicate and zesty salad. The server was excellent at guiding us through this culinary terrain. I did my study abroad in Argentina so I was familiar with a lot of the dishes, the server was patient and offered helpful opinions. For our mains we shared the Parilla, the swordfish, Milanesa, skirt steak, French fries and the asparagus. When I say this could be my last meal on earth. I don’t want to die I wanna come back here for special occasions. It was meat heavy, but that’s what you expect in an Argentine atmosphere. This is hands down the best meal and dining experience in the area. I hope you enjoy yourself as much as we did.
