Whitney's - Longboat Key

Super cute, retro place to eat! We ordered the ricotta donut holes which were super fluffy!! My main course was the egg Sammy and the bread was fantastic, buttery and fluffy! Our waitress was super friendly and it was pretty quick, took an hour fromwalking in to walking out! Definitely a recommendation for something casual and fun!

I wanted to absolutely love this place especially as a local. Let me start with that I liked the ambiance is incredible and very nicely done especially for being a previous gas station. The food was tasty the LBK bowl did not disappoint. Here?s whatI didn?t love Service was very slow (we were seated and had to go track down a waiter 20 mins after being seated), we wereserved a dirty water glass (found lipstick) and we found hair in the side of honey that comes with the parfait. Lastly, at theend we visited the bathrooms and the gas station bathroom experience is what we encountered. Maybe you won?t experience thesame?!

The ambiance was great. Chicken sandwich was just a basic chicken sandwich, would have been great if the chicken was not so tough. It was overcooked. The steak sandwich was just ok, and we asked for extra sauce which made it taste slightly better. Thesteak was ordered medium but came out well-done The worst part was the service. We waited and waited for our server to refillour water and request the sauce. After about 30 mins another table behind us was chasing after the waiter as well because he wasnot giving them their check. We finally just went to the bar to ask for water and get the sauce which we got right away. Ourwaiter was working very hard I never saw him stop once, I actually felt bad for him, perhaps there needs to be extra staff to beable to handle larger crowds. On the bright side, the crab cake was absolutely delicious and the only thing we enjoyed

The laidback beach vibe of this place is perfect! The building used to be a gas station and I love that they retained much of the architecture. The staff were friendly and attentive. I appreciated that they were extra respectful and accommodating to anolder gentleman who had an obvious disability and required special seating. The food was wonderful. We got the queso for theappetizer, which was heavenly. I got the Whitney Burger and the fiancé got the mixed salad w/ champagne vinaigrette. Wefinished off the meal with their famous key lime pie. It was loaded with whipped cream and white chocolate shavings. There arerestrooms outside. A bonus is that the Whitney Beach access is literally right across the road and Beer Can Island beach accessis just up the road. This place is a gem.

Absolutely recommend! My wife and I had an amazing experience here. They have relaxed, retro atmosphere by the beach, full of palm trees and tropical flowers. Our server was very friendly and accommodated us and our little dog very well. They have agreat drink menu and the food was delicious. Get the grilled chicken sandwich or avocado toast! A great hidden gem in LongboatKey.
