Before it closed it had been one of our favorite places to go, but our first experience back was chaotic and generally unpleasant. There was a very long wait for the food and my waffle had a piece of plastic in it when I finally did get to eat it. They gave me a new waffle, but offered no other compensation. I like to give second chances so we waited 6 months before going back, hoping to give them time to get all of their staff trained and working better together. This time the wait for three meals (pancakes and a waffle… two with eggs and bacon) was over 30 minutes. I could hear my server yelling at the cooks in the kitchen but none of her yelling seemed to do any good. My tea tasted horrible and I asked for water to replace it. We almost walked out just before the food came because we had other plans for our afternoon. They assured me the food was coming. My daughter’s pancake was way sweeter than it should have been and she only ate a third of it. We ate quickly and I paid the bill, but left a note on it saying how disappointed I was. We all went to the restroom before leaving and when I came out, the manager/owner? was there giving me a business card that said we had $10 off our next visit. I just told her I didn’t think we’d be coming back and ushered my kids out of the building. I paid $30 each visit for terrible service and substandard food. I am not going to give this Ihop any more of my money.
