The other reviews almost scared us away but I'm used to "paying for the view" and happy to do it when it's worth itStick with safe classics.

We stopped in at the Pavillion for lunch on our firt day at Lorne. The food was excellent as was the friendly and helpful service we recieved from the stff. A great place for lunch with fantastic views overlooking the ocean.

A cold start to the morning in Lorne warmed enough to be able to sit outside at the Beach Pavilion. Friendly service who pointed out the ordering procedures that you order inside and pick up your own utensils and water . Nothing caught my eye at first but we really wanted to enjoy the beach so ordered poached eggs on toast and a beef burger, a south australia rose and a aperol cocktail . Drinks were spot on , eggs were perfectly poached and received three instead of the expected two . Chips accompanying the burger were nice but may have been sitting waiting too long as they were Luke warm . The burger patty look mass produced and the burger also on the cool side . Rating the view as 5/5 but the food less means I'll give it a 3 as the views and drinks make the beach pavilion a place I was happy to visit.
