Esther's Kitchen Beer Garden

This restaurant used to be a warm and inviting place with a great variety of food and pastry options. However, on two separate occasions, I walked in and then left immediately. The quality has consistently declined, and the staff member I encountered was unfriendly and unhelpful. The selection of pastries is extremely limited now. I'm not sure what changed, but I've decided to move on from Esther's.

The staff was incredibly welcoming! The cake, beer, and mustard were excellent! Food: 5/5.

This is not the Esther's I used to love. The ownership has changed, and so have the offerings of German baked goods. I was shocked to see the place in such disarray. I strongly advise against buying pretzels—don't waste your money. Everything looked unappetizing. I've been visiting since they opened, traveling all the way from San Francisco. Instead, head to downtown Los Altos, which isn't far away, and enjoy a much better meal. I feel this place should be shut down.

Cozy German-themed restaurant nestled in the old part of MV across the Village. Pork schnitzel with fried potatoes and the bratwurst sausage and sauerkraut were hot and tasty. Sauerkraut itself was a bit overseasoned but warm and tasty. A few bakery items but the food is surprisingly good along with the friendly service. Small outdoor patio with picnic tables in the back1 unisex restroom. Some parking up front otherwise a few more in the back. About 4 German beers on tap which were good.

I don't know what happened, but their pretzels are different, and they're terrible. They no longer have all of the delicious options, but they're not even the same pretzels. They only have salted ones, which were so cold. I'm pretty sure they were defrosted, and they were dried out inside. I'm so disappointed. They were my favorite pretzels in the Bay Area.
