Alfred Coffee Silverlake - Los Angeles

This is a chain, but they serve an excellent vanilla latte. They also offer a BLT on a bagel, which is a nice twist. While I miss the bagels from New York, these are quite good compared to what I've found in LA (I believe they source them from a local bakery). The seating at this location is limited, but it's situated in an area where you can easily grab a coffee and take a walk. The prices are comparable to most coffee shops in LA. I personally enjoy the iced vanilla latte with oat milk.

I took a drive through Silver Lake and heard they serve nitro cold brew, so I decided to check it out. Despite the area being quite busy, we managed to find parking without too much trouble. The café itself has a small, to-go style vibe, at least that's the impression I got. I opted for the larger size of the nitro cold brew, and it was definitely worth the 50-cent upgrade. The cold brew was excellent—no unpleasant aftertaste like I’ve experienced at some other places, and it wasn’t watered down at all. I typically prefer a bolder, dark chocolate flavor in my cold brew, but this one was still enjoyable. I would recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

We made a quick stop during our walk and ordered a black Americano and a lavender matcha latte. My husband enjoyed his black coffee, and I found my matcha latte quite delightful as well. I had it with oat milk and had no complaints. There are two outdoor tables for seating, and the setup has a charming vibe. Plus, the Micheltorena stairway is just across the street. Overall, I would rate the service 5/5.

A friend recommended this place saying it was good so I was excited to try it. Their Lavender Latte tasted nothing of lavender but a strong ginger taste. I have tasted lavender coffee at other establishments, Alfred should just rename it ginger latte. For the price you pay, I was really hoping for something good.

I really enjoy coming to Alfred's as it always feels like a treat. On this visit I decided to try the iced vanilla latte which is not for me. It wasn't very flavorful which might have also been due to the fact that I didn't see anything to stir it with. So I would try something else on my next visit. It is pricer than other coffee shops I go to so I don't come very often but like to go in every now and then. One of my favorite things about Alfred's is all of the collaborations that they do.The Office collaboration was really exciting for me to see. I loved seeing the Jim Pam mural at this location and getting the cute coffee sleeves.
