Birds Rotisserie Chicken Cafe

We were in the area and pick here to eat. They had happy hour and place was jumping on January Friday night. Love the decor and service. I had happy hour tacos. Very good food and good service. Hollywood kind of locals eat here.

The food was tasty, though not outstanding enough to solely recommend this place based on the food. However, I did enjoy what I ordered. The fellow diners seated next to me were friendly, chatty, and pleasant. I do wish they had a wider selection of draft beers to choose from.

Birds has one thing going for it: the vibe. So much energy, such a great crowd, people gathering and living their best 20-something lives overflowing onto the street in Franklin Village. My friend and I came Sunday evening around 7 PM and the place was packed. We got seated twice, outside. The second time was under a heater (and it was the second week of July). Our server was pleasant and good-natured. Our request for appetizer-before-entrée was unheeded, the sauces for the tasty onion rings were botched (then corrected) and the chicken in my chicken Caesar salad was desiccated, lying hapless on a bed of joyless Romaine with tasteless dressing. My friend enjoyed his hamburger. If you prefer charisma to competence, step right up. They're serving it.

Fun unassuming bar in the Franklin village strip. Not pretentious at all but still about as happening as Franklin village gets. It's a great place to grab a low-key dinner before a UCB show or maybe heading over to La Poubelle for a few cocktails. I really dig the food in the simple atmosphere. Definitely one of my spots and I recommend it. Now get on over there and snack on some of that there chicken. Ya dig?

Great place! They have the coldest, wettest water in LA. Also the pesto is really good by itself. (Fork in photo for scale)
