My girlfriend and i came in and decided to seat at the bar, after a couple of drinks we ordered a bit couple of appetizers, a couple of pastas and a special of that night 30oz porthouse that was very well marinated and delivered to perfect temperature. We ended oir night with a delicious dessert of macha tiramisu and caramel hazelnut budino. Great experience will be back with more friends soon!!!! Ciao!!!
To start was given this place by a friend and from reading the reviews I almost did not book a reservation here. To start the ambiance is really nice, like dimly lit and just has a feel of date night. The service was okay I would give it a B-, our server was kind of all over the place but extremely friendly and decently attentive. Okay got that out of the way, the Little Gem Salad was very solid, the watermelon radish was a great addition and the vinaigrette was laid on to perfection. It’s a solid B for the salad now to this Momotaro Salad which was my first time really hearing about or eating and right now I can say the garlic country loaf is some of the most delicious bread I have ever eaten it is soft and just mouth watering and when you pair that with the ricotta it gives it a solid A- Lastly the Carbonara which was top notch, and I’m not just saying that. No this was some delicious call your mom after dinner and tell her about the amazing food you just ate. If you haven’t tried this Carbonara and you live in the LA proper area, you’re tastebuds are missing out on a greatness.
Ate here for the $49 DineLA because the Japanese fusion menu caught my eye. The dishes were comforting and familiar but would feature a little twist. Ex: whipped tofu caprese, hamachi bolognese, brûléed castella cake. Everything tasted pretty good, but nothing really blew me away to the point of OMG I need to come back here. Plus it was very pricey: after one drink and the automatic 20% service charge my meal was $80. I definitely didn’t walk into the meal thinking I’d spend that much on DineLA lol So that’s that, a decent place, I’m glad o tried it but probably won’t visit again. Also it’s in an area with limited parking.
Really tasty food options, attentive and nice waiters. Great ambience and experience to try food from allover the world. Blackship is better for groups of 3 or more so you can try more food options since all their meals can be shared. Would have been a 5 star experience but the meals didn't come out as quickly.
My review is limited to this one visit and their Happy Hour menu which you can pick 3 apps for $21. I had these 3 Crudo, Arancini and Shishito peppers. All were excellent. Well worth the price. The meatballs looked delicious too. Next visit plan on trying some of their regular menu.
