Cho Oishi - Los Angeles

Incredible sushi and Japanese cuisine! We tried the sushi rolls and Poke Bowls, and they were outstanding. The ingredients were incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. I highly recommend it—a perfect 10/10. The drinks were delightful as well. While it was on the pricier side, this is Hollywood Boulevard, so if you’re looking for budget-friendly options, you might want to reconsider. The quality is superb!

The staff was friendly and attentive. The decor leaned more towards a Chinese aesthetic than a Japanese one. The sushi rolls were mostly tasteless, and the beef in the surf and turf roll could have used a few additional ingredients for extra flavor and visual appeal. Overall, it felt a bit overpriced for the quality of the food.

The restaurant has a beautiful and aesthetic ambiance, with lovely views from the windows. However, the food needs improvement. I ordered the signature Oishi sushi rolls and was quite disappointed. The cucumber was tough, the rice seemed overcooked, and the price was $19.88 for just 8 pieces of sushi. While I expected it to be pricey given its Hollywood location, I anticipated that the flavors would match the cost. I had high hopes for the meal, but I can only give this place three stars. It would have earned four stars if the pricing was more reasonable.

Every dish we ordered was fantastic. Spicy tuna rolls were delicious start. Chicken and beef dishes were so delicate and tasteful. Ready with Tempura Ice Cream!!

What I had eaten wasn't anything expectedly good. I was disappointed a bit with the dishes. Some just tasted pretty average. Others lacked quality like the Tempura. First batch we got was crunchy but the next was soft and looked as if some time was still needed. Not to mention we did wait quite a while for our food. That is easy to brush off though.
