Dolores - Los Angeles

The chili arrived quickly, but it was terrible—honestly, even canned Hormel would have been better. After a lengthy wait for our main courses, I saw our food come out, but the waiter—who I suspect was the manager trying to save money by not hiring another server—was too busy talking on his cell phone. He prepared the food while still on the phone and then delivered it in a rather gruff manner. To my dismay, my burger had all the toppings I specifically asked to be left off. I attempted to get his attention, but he was back on the phone again, so I took the plate to the counter and waited while he continued his call. After some time, I became frustrated and began to voice my complaints. In response, he put his hand in my face and said, "There's no need to yell! I am a human being!" I wasn't yelling; I was simply annoyed and trying to explain the situation. As I waited for my burger to be corrected, he remained intermittently on the phone. When he finally brought me a replacement, I couldn’t believe it had pickles, tomato, and lettuce on it again! Plus, the bacon was far from crisp. When I pointed out the mistakes once more, he became irate. I mentioned that if he hadn’t been on his phone, he might have caught the errors. His response was to shout that he had business to attend to. I’d heard good things about Dolores and was excited to try it, but my experience was far from what I expected. This will be my only visit, and I couldn’t recommend it less. Avoid this place at all costs—it's not worth the trouble! I wish I could give zero stars, but since that wasn’t an option, I had to settle for one.
