Drinks are festive (I meant creative but auto correct) and different, and well priced. We skipped appetizers, actually we ordered one but they forgot (but that’s alright). Main courses were excellent. Loved the chicken and pasta dishes. Caramelized Brussels sprouts are my new favorite thing.
Atmosphere and service can't resolve a food problem. I ordered the Braised Short Rib with Potatoes Anna and brie. I was served a pile of plain pulled meat. The meat was stringy rather than tender and had a off flavor, that I have encountered before when meat is allowed to stand/age too long in stale air without a good spice rub. The sauce was unremarkable, as were the unseasoned potatoes, gelatinous and shaped like a sausage, buried under the meat. The brie was a chilled little slice placed on top of the meat, with no particular purpose. I ordered a side of bread so that I could give it a purpose. This dish could have been brilliant if the meat was kept whole, cooked and served in the sauce, with a trio of seasoned fondant potatoes, and the brie warmed and accompanied with crackers. I was disappointed to find that the firehouse legacy of the building was not apparent in the decorations. It's funky, yes, but I didn't warm to a theme.
Love the atmosphere here, perfect for a low key meet up or a first date , or if you have a large gathering you can easily fit in the relaxed lounge patio area in back. Excellent mixed drinks
Nice restaurant bar to spend the afternoon or night Food is ok, drinks are ok Atmosphere is good
Food was great as well as service! Kind of quirky system of ordering food from bar, but they bring to you it was fine with bubbly service also bringing mimosas to table. Found Edendale to be extremely reasonable. I'll be back!!!
