We arrived at 8:11PM they told us there was a wait and they couldn’t guarantee seating for us but we should come back at 9PM to check. We did and we were the last couple to be seated. Last call is at 9:30PM. It’s a small restaurant. The main dining area is the sushi bar, 6-8 seats in front and 4-5 seats on each side. There are two tables in a separate dining area that seat four each. You may sit there if you’re in a party of at least three or more. No noodles, no ramen, no tempura, no nonsense. Very simple, old school traditional, no frills. Once seated service is fast. We ordered mostly nigiri. We also ordered oysters and salmon cheek with yuzu. Fish was fresh and tasty. I forgot to ask if they offer omakase. We loved everything we ordered. This place is added to our list of favorite L.A. sushi spots.PS If you park in the Japanese Village parking structure, they’ll validate your ticket.
This place was wonderful. I was on the hunt for sushi in Little Tokyo and stumbled upon this place. The sushi was super fresh, service was impeccable too. I really enjoyed watching my food being made in front of me! We will most definitely be coming back.Food: 5/5
My cousin recommended this place upon recommendation from a good friend of hers. We were really hungry and debating what to eat when she remembered she really wanted to eat here. I didn't mind too much since I'm always down for sushi. The place inside is small, with a sushi bar and only two tables, but the vibe is very traditional Japanese. The sushi chefs are all very skilled. You can tell that this place has been around awhile but somehow remains a hidden gem.Although the place is on the higher end, it is definitely worth it. Do keep in mind they work around Japan time so will close early, but they still let us and a few other parties come and dine in despite there only being 20 minutes left until closing. That being said, this place is definitely for those who are adventurous eaters and sushi enthusiasts as they don't really do American type sushi. This means no tempura and sushi that is drizzled in lot of sauces.Although very traditional, they do take one form of modern payment, in credit or debit card, but no NFC/tap to pay options (cash is also welcome as well). Please do stop by if you want some traditional, good old fashioned sushi and vibes.
Excellent service and food. I do not have any pictures since photos are not allowed.I got there around 1:29 PM. I was allowed to get seated even though it was close to the closing time.I got too excited about the menu and marked the wrong amount on my order sheet. The chef reminded me that each order comes with two sushi. So I corrected my order. But I still had one more mistake: I initially wanted sweet raw shrimp, but I filled the number in the wrong box. I felt very sorry that I made the error. The chef kindly made the unexpected order even though he was working overtime. I really appreciate it. My sincere apologies for putting my order wrong twice.I would definitely come back. 5 stars. I recommend this place.
Not allowed to take pictures but I noticed the sign too late, so I still have some photos. Really good atmosphere! Not too expensive, we 2 people spent about 75+10tax.
