There are so many Nashville hot chicken spots all over LA, its nice to visit one that is just simple, delicious fried chicken. Best chicken sandwich I've ever had. The owners are nice people and deserve some love from the people of LA during these hard times.
Was visiting LA and stopped on through. This place was amazing! If I lived in town, I probably would weigh 300 lbs. because, I would eat here all the time. It was so much fun and the owner was great to talk to. He is an amazing person who started this wonderful business. Please eat here and support small businesses recovering from the COVID lockdown. I want them to be around for my next trip to LA.
This is the best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had in my life, and is right for those looking for a juicy, substantial piece of chicken in a well-sauced bun. It was perfectly cooked, tender, tasty, and lightly fried, with tasty mayo and a toasted bun. Dark meat only in both the sandwich and the popcorn chicken! Butter lettuce was a great crispy counterpoint to the chicken. Also, the service was unobtrusive and excellent. I was sharing my chicken sandwich with someone and they served it cut in half for us without asking, and provided a share plate. The guest next to us, who was eating his alone, didn't have his sandwich cut in half. The napkins and utensils are self-serve atop the counter, and when he placed the food down, the waiter noticed we didn't have some within easy reach and gave us some more.
Best Fried Chicken in LA! The sandwiches are made with thigh meat, which we love! The sauce and pickles are the perfect addition to the crispy, juicy chicken. Love the potato salad and pickled veggies! Super clean, friendly staff and delicious food. Love Lucky Bird!
The chicken was stupidly juicy. It is rare that you get a giant leg, breast, and thigh that are all cooked to perfection like this. Each piece is topped with a bit of salt and lemon zest, which sounds a little weird, but brings an awesome hint of flavor to the chicken that has to be tried. The only thing missing is a hint of spice to the batter. And while they give you hot sauce, I much prefer having a little seasoning mixed in. The service was great and the food came out quickly and was piping hot. I can't really find fault with anything, but the lack of seasoning in the batter means that it is missing that extra something.
