Mastro's Ocean Club Downtown Los Angeles

Invited my childhood friend for her birthday. The food was Amazing I anticipated the service to be the same amazing service it has always been. We were not in a hurry so the time it took to get our drinks (1st round) wasn’t a concern. When I made the reservation I indicated we were celebrating a birthday, the hostess asked and that’s where it ended. We didn’t get a bread basket, the second round of drinks took an eternity. Every birthday we’ve celebrated there was always special since she’d never been before I wanted it to be special for her.

Food was good and cooked to right temperature! Service was not good compared to normal standards… I felt like I was constantly trying to find my waiter. This location is more for the vibes vs the other locations.

I was disappointed at Mastro’s D/T. We were seated in the aisle end of the bar area even though we made reservations for a birthday dinner. People were walking all around us. I would have asked for another table but I had not been to this location and it wasn’t until I visited the powder room that I realized there was an actual dining area. The food was good not great. My companion did not like her first cocktail so she sent it back and we were charged anyway. Our server Sierra was lovely and attentive but I don’t think I’ll be back.

Good service and food. All round great place. Waiter was a little slow. But food served hot.

This was our second time to dine at Mastro's. Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food and superb service.
