You can't go wrong with Salt and Straw. Flavors are always good. Service is good and it is a very casual mood. Here came to dessert after dinner it did not disappoint this place. Overall: will return for ice and perhaps a waffle cone
Items:1. Wild Foraged Berry Slab Pie on a cone (top) $6 5/52. Strawberry coconut water in a cup (below) $6 5/5Review: Great place to repair your ice Many delicious and unique flavors to choose, and they offer seasonal options as well as friendly staff and they let us taste flavors that is beautiful Generous serving for a single blade Open quite late, so it is a good place to get dessert parking: parking in this area but can be difficult to find in this area
No need to get salty about the ice cream here! Salt Straw draws you in with their infamous delicious waffle cone smell wafting from their doors. I always appreciate their monthly flavors that switch up the menu every month and keep you coming back! This Arts District location is the most accessible one to me and I've been coming here for years. It can get very busy depending on the time of day but it will fill your ice cream needs till 11pm. My favorite flavors are berry and floral so I typically come more often during the spring and summer months but switched things up this month by trying their Dairy Free Decadence flavors for January. I love how staff allow you to sample quite a few flavors to make your choice because it's not always easy! I went with Toasted Oat Milk Cookies (v) and Red Velvet Cake w/ Cream Cheese Frosting (v), split scoop so $6.30 (extra 50 cents for a split scoop). I'm not the biggest fan of non dairy flavors but Salt n Straw made a good attempt. Their Bananas Foster and Peanut Butter Brittle Caramel Fudge flavors were stellar yet I didn't choose to get them since I'm not the biggest banana or peanut butter fan. I think I'll stick with their dairy flavors for the future!
Tried this Salt and Straw location when I was in the area with my husband. We tried one of the limited edition holiday flavors, the vegan one The Great Cookie Swap. Opted for a waffle cone, too, after seeing they make them there and smelling how delicious it smelled. The ice cream was really good! It tasted like it had a coconut milk base possibly and the cookie was like a gingerbread or something. It definitely tasted very Christmas-y. It was also just the right amount with one scoop. We shared and it was still satisfying. This is a nice location but there's not much seating. Most people hang out outside which is pretty good advertising because then when you walk by, you want ice cream. : I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area again.
