My husband also enjoyed the smothered pork chops, which came with macaroni and cheese and rice with gravy—delicious as well! Thank you, Stevies, for consistently delivering fresh flavors cooked to perfection. If you haven’t tried this place yet, it’s a must-visit. You won’t be disappointed, I promise! As we like to say, it's BUSSIN BUSSIN!
I ordered the vegetable gumbo soup, and it reminded me of the meals my grandma used to make. It was absolutely delicious, though a bit on the expensive side, likely due to its location in the heart of LA with higher overhead costs. Nonetheless, the food is fantastic! It's a lovely family-run business as well. Don't be put off by the simple and minimal decor; the real treasure is in the food. They definitely know how to make a great roux! I will definitely return!
The food here is absolutely transformative! I ordered the creole pasta while my boyfriend chose the seafood gumbo, and everything was packaged perfectly. The dishes not only taste incredible but also look fantastic—if not better! The bold flavors, combined with generous portions of seafood and protein, elevate the experience even further. If you’re looking for a meal that will make you reevaluate everything, this is the place to go!
Food was above average. Wife got the Creole pasta and shrimp and grits which both plates were pretty good. I got the red snapper which just okay, same with the Mac and cheese and red beans and rice. Overall, service was great and the family reallywanted to support black business. My only negative is the 18% service charge for ordering 4+ items, which is pretty ridiculous.I know times are hard but this add-on fee seems like overkill.
Everything was very delicious! ???? We had the fried pickles and corn bread to start us off followed by the catfish creole that melts in your mouth and the seafood gumbo loaded with meats with a side of candied yams! For dessert we decided on peachbeignets filled with cobbler. Highly recommend! ????????
