This place is expensive. Well, I went to dinner! It was packed and cramped. I had the seafood soup and Carne Asada Tacos. The tacos were disappointing. But the seafood soup was delicious! Nikki Hilton sat at the table next to us. I guess that's why it's so fucking expensive.
The Ivy Restaurant is a well-known food in the heart of Los Angelos. Everyone knows it's the place to see Celebrities. It is a warm looking restaurant with the famous white pimple fence with Ivies growing on the outside. Celebrities would normally sit outside on the terrace, table 41, while paparazzi would snap away. If you sit there, the paparazzi would probably ask if you were a celebrity. It is located on a trendy street where you can find Kitson/Kitson Kids (another celebrity Hangout). Before visiting my cousin I asked her to choose a restaurant where I will see Celebrities. In the film industry, she was able to make reservations in less than a week, which was a bonus! The service was excellent and we sat right away. Our table was in the corner of the room. The lights became with a tealight on the table... very romantic! It had a local feeling for the restaurant. Great place for a date, but I wouldn't recommend babies or toddlers. We got stars from other tables and of course there were Whispers. They probably thought we were celebrities. Unfortunately, it was so dark that I couldn't see any celebrities. I'm sure if there were paparazzi out there. We had no appetizers, but we had a deer and dessert (of course). Surprisingly, the food was good! The selection of dessert is all homemade, much to my wishes! Our server recommended to try the apple cake, and it was a good choice. The apples were sweet and it just melted in my mouth. The seafood linguini had fresh seafood and the pasta was not too hard and not too soft. Price: 1 thumb high (it could be expensive) Quality: 2 thumbs up Location: 1 thumb up (trend area, but parking is not so big unless you get valet) Service: 2 thumb up The Ivy has a regular American menu, but with its own style and presentation. If we ordered wine and a 3-course menu, this could leave you at about $100 per person in the hole. I thought it was good. PS: Reservations are a must! Give it at least 1-2 months before dinner seating. Lunch/Brunch is usually not so busy.
I used to come to lunch with my mother and my aunt when I was little before the Zelebs and Papz took over. it used to be okay – not now. overpriced. tasteless food. overfilled. Do you really want to eat somewhere where you are constantly being watched?
No one greeted us. We were the only ones there. A waiter told us to sit wherever we wanted. No one offered us any water or menus. After a good 10 minutes we stood up and walked out, the host then came running after us telling us to stay. He wasn't very friendly so what could've been saved was completely lost. Not a good vibe at all.
