Prospect Hill Inn - LOUISA

Prospect Hill is a charming bed and breakfast, and we thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay in the Overseer's Cottage. The breakfasts brought to our cottage were exceptionally gourmet. The expansive grounds are well-kept and offer numerous outdoor activities, including a pool, volleyball net, walking trails, a garden pavilion, and a fire pit. The main house is beautifully adorned with antiques and features a cozy library and an honor bar. We appreciated meeting the owner, who is continually enhancing this historic property. We highly recommend it for a fantastic getaway.

This charming and unique getaway is a true gem. The 300-year-old cottage we stayed in had been beautifully updated with modern amenities while still retaining its original character and charm. The owners were exceptional—professional and genuinely dedicated to making our stay perfect, all while respecting our privacy. Each morning, we enjoyed a delicious homemade breakfast delivered to our cottage. The location is ideal, just a twenty-minute drive from downtown Charlottesville, yet wonderfully peaceful and secluded. This spot is definitely on our shortlist for romantic and relaxing retreats that nourish the spirit. I highly recommend it!

The property is beautiful and incredibly tranquil. The breakfasts were likely the best I've ever had at a bed and breakfast, and the service was outstanding. Additionally, as a fan of American history, I thoroughly enjoyed staying in a cottage dating back to the late 1700s!

Prospect Hill was a wonderful retreat from the busyness of the city. The room was relaxing and set up in the period of the estate. The breakfast was delicious and varied from day to day. It was a treat to see what dessert Jim would have for us for after breakfast! The owners made you feel like you were part of their family. I enjoyed meeting Gus and Max their fur family. I would highly recommend for a quick get away or a leisurely stay.

This place is paradise. Our favorite surprises were: 1) The mile long nature trail. It’s stunning. 2) The mini fridge with water from their deep well and sodas. We refilled our water pitcher inside the big house several times. 3) The pool with a room stocked with towels, floaties, pool and outdoor toys, etc. 4) The beautiful and delicious breakfasts. 5) The high-speed internet in all of the rooms. 6) The owners dogs and cat who come and say hello each morning.
