I have lived in the neighbourhood for three years and was always in awe of sarino architecture that want to dine on their terrace. today I had friends in the city to see me for a two-month job order, we decided to venture out and try sarinos. on a short note I wish we hadn't. we came around 17 clock and the restaurant had only three tables. I saw three employees contact us while the host was on the phone and not even tried to check us out. they denied us outside the sitting due to previous retention even what we were made with our meal before each outside seat ever sat! the Schnobby attack was enough to send me out of the door again. we finally sat and the server was friendly, but he was very slow. we all ordered single dishes and two orders of focaccia. the focaccia app was the best part, although it was extremely minimal and had no gloss. the brot in ciao is a thousand times better and free! independent of it, price is the least of my complaining, even tho the price does not fit to the quality. we ordered two vodka sauce dishes, two garnels and a herb paste. everything was extremely lacking in gloss and understated. the noodles were eclectic, so it was difficult to even eat. the aromen were mutated and lacked, not offer a rich Italian feeling. the pasta tasted like grass, literally, the pesto was overwhelmed by aromen, which did not complicated the court. the garnelen scampi was bland and noodles were hung together, but by far the best dish taste wise. we sent three of the five courts with two bites back from them and the server didn't even seem phased or worried that there was a problem with quality?! I didn't want to complain because the list is too long to start, but I just won't be back. they save their money and skip sarinos, there are much better and more hospitable restaurants in the city they do not leave unhappy!
Everything was great until we were mischarged for something that was not communicated to us. I tried talking to the manager, Emily, about it but she was condescending belittling to me about the amount of the dispute. At this price point, it was unnecessary and rude.
Wonderful Italian food in our neighborhood. The portions are large we had plenty to take home with us after the delicious charcuterie focaccia bread starters.
The atmosphere here is really relaxing and comforting. My fiancé and I had a nice experience at Sarino. We were able to make a reservation on a Sunday for later in the evening. When we arrived, we were seated quickly with our reservation, and with their reward system we were offered a free appetizer. I was craving risotto and salmon, so I ordered the risotto appetizer and salmon entrée. He ordered the lasagna. Our food was served relatively fast. The risotto contained saffron and I know now that I'm not a fan of this spice. The server took it off the bill, which was very nice of her. The salmon and brussels were good but not enough to impress me. I was actually impressed with my fiancé's lasagna. The red sauce was full of flavor and the meat wasn't overpowering. He wasn't a fan though it was inconsistent for him. Burnt around the edges and dry, but then in the middle it was perfect. He would prefer a more consistent piece of lasagna. We were very full, so we didn't opt for dessert. If we come back then perhaps we will try something. I'm not even sure we were offered a dessert menu now that I think of it.
Delicious food, great menu, the focaccia is a must! I've been here twice now and have really enjoyed it.
