We had to wait quite a bit, but once we were seated, everything moved smoothly. It took a while to get our drinks, but the chef was fantastic, and they served a generous amount of food, with everyone receiving boxes for leftovers. I hadn't visited in a few years, and I'm happy to say that everything met my expectations.
Alright, let me share my experience, although I can't promise all the details since I indulged in a drink special called the Mistletoe Margarita—had maybe four or five of those! The night began with a bit of a wait; they wouldn’t seat our party of ten until everyone had arrived, which had us hanging out in a chilly entryway. To warm up from the cold, I decided to have a drink. Since tequila tends to make me a bit feisty, we agreed it would be better to substitute vodka instead. A wise choice, as it turned out! The drink was fantastic, and thankfully, there were no mishaps. The atmosphere was lively, and while the food was enjoyable, the seating setup made it tough to keep up with conversations. I think I was supposed to be paying attention to the chef, but honestly, I was just having a great time overall. It was a fun experience that I really enjoyed!
I ordered the teriyaki chicken, which came with a generous serving of rice, vegetables, soup, and salad. Next time, I plan to skip the soup and request double salad, a tip I picked up from a friend. There are plenty of sauces to choose from as well. My friends opted for salmon and steak, and everyone raved about their meals. A wide selection of wine, beer, cocktails, and other food items is also available. If you’re not in the mood for hibachi, they offer other seating options for menu selections. The service was friendly, and the cooking show was entertaining, featuring classic jokes, bursts of flames, and playful rice-catching antics. The decor is simple and modest, as the focus here is primarily on the food. Overall, it was a fun experience!
This is the only hibachi restaurant I go to in Louisville. I keep coming back because the food is consistently excellent, the service is fantastic, and the prices are reasonable for the quality offered. They even greet me by name every time I visit. It can get a bit noisy at times, but that has never stopped me from enjoying my meal.
It's still Kansai with the same staff and owner, just under a new name. We’ve enjoyed seeing friendly faces we've known for years, even after moving away and returning twice! The service was quick and pleasant, and the food was delicious from appetizers to entrees. We had a new waiter whom we hadn’t met before, and he was outstanding. Although he didn't tell us his name, he was attentive and friendly, checking on my food allergies multiple times and confirming our orders along the way. I was truly impressed—very few people take such extra care, especially after being informed about food allergies. The atmosphere remains much the same, with dim lighting in some areas and brighter spots in others. Once you get used to it, it enhances the overall ambiance.
