There is a blackboard which lists all the catch of the day like razor clams, vongole, shrimps, lobster, seabass etc., everything is amazing, even the simple side dishes like tomatoes and potatoes. Only people in-the-know go and we go all the time.
Have visited this typical Portuguese no-nonsense fish restaurant once more and the experience was even better than last year. The service Was good and the waiter was swift but very friendly. The grill master prepared our tiger prawns and soles to perfection. We had good weather so could sit outside and oversee Vilamiura port from the seaside. Will certainly come back. I highly recommend this restaurant especially for lunch.
If you love fish and a relaxed atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle but still with the views of the Marina at Vilamoura- then get yourself over to this little restaurant. We had lunch there fish, naturally. You can’t pre-decide what you want, there’s no menu, it depends on what’s been caught. Go with an open-mind and you won’t be disappointed. We had sardines and prawns to start, followed by sea bream, bass and turbot then Dover sole served with a simple tomato onion and pepper salad and boiled potatoes. Plenty of wine, water, coffee, desserts, although to be honest we tried them all and I would only have the cheesecake and crepe caramel again, I would give the others a wide berth. Less than 50€ per head and we were there for 4 hours having a very civilized lunch
Great fresh grilled fish at a reasonably price in a great location. Our daughter is a vegetarian, so limited choice, she had the vegetable soup and the waiter said he would make her a special salad. The salad turned out to be not so special, Then came the sting in in the tail, the weight of the fish had increased significantly from the 850 grams weighed on the scale and the not so special salad, was a staggering price of €14! Shame really as good food, we just deducted the extras from the tip. If you do go to this restaurant suggest that you take a picture of the fish on the scales with your phone and stick to the menu
I have considered keeping this one for ourselves. If you are looking for a typical Portugese hide away in the midst of all the tourist traps, O Tasquinho Do Manel is it. We always go for their fresh fish: it has always been a winner.
