La Casa Boricua - Loves Park

I highly recommend trying this restaurant! It reminds me of my mother's cooking from when she was alive. The owner, Jenny, is amazing, and I truly hope she finds great success with this place. The food is always freshly made and unlike anything else I've had. It's definitely the best in Loves Park, Illinois. I will absolutely be coming back!

I tried the carne frita dinner plate for the first time (I wanted the lechon plate, but it will be available tomorrow). The portion size was very good. I'm not usually a big fan of plantains, but these were different—perhaps it was the sauce they added, which was nice. I also got a piece of the meat, and it was quite tasty, so no complaints there. Just a heads-up: make sure to check if they're open or not, unless the flag is out. I'll update my review regarding the lechon situation.

Lacasa boricua is really the best Puerto Rican food in the city! they care about my vegetarian needs and eating is always fresh and tasteful, I recommend them whenever people eat for lunch or dinner.

This is genuine Puerto Rican food! You have to try it for an authentic experience. It's not a boring spot; more like a casual grab-and-go. We ordered two dozen assorted snacks to freeze at home. Mmmm, so delicious!
