Food was just fine. My friend got the meekathang which was flavorless and the noodles were overcooked stuck together. She didn’t eat it so the manager was kind enough to comp it for us. I recommend the short rib pho. Service was okay, server avoided us after we asked about getting something in place of the meekathang. The place overall is mediocre. There are better Korean fusion restaurants a little further out but Sizzling will do it if you’re desperate.
I think I ate here at least twice a week during the pandemic and I ordered Sizzling Spicy Dry Tofu every time. It was easily my favorite comfort food and every time I visit anywhere near Lowell around dinner time, I make a point to order this. I've also tried a few other vegetarian options like the tofu kimchi-jjigae and tofu mee ka-tang and they're also amazing. When I moved away for a few years, I'd dream of eating Sizzling Kitchen when the other take out options weren't cutting it. Can't speak more highly of their consistently good food and friendly service each time I went to pick up. I recently got takeout and they've expanded their dining area and it looks amazing. Looking forward to eating in one of these days. Please never change Sizzling Kitchen! Vegetarian options: Almost every dish has a vegetarian option (especially if you're an ovo-vegetarian) and the ones I've tried are amazing. As stated above, the Sizzling Spicy Dry Tofu is killer!
They are basically a mom and pop type of operation. They do put out some quality Vietnamese food. I had their chicken Mee Ka-Tang and it was crispy and full of chicken and vegetables. It tasted good and I liked the springy crispy noodles. Also had their Nam which is Vietnamese fresh rolls. It was good but I have been spoilt by one of the best places in CA. Their limeade was nice and refreshing they went with the meal. Staff were very attentive and checked in with us. They were friendly too being a mom and pop style place. It was the children that ran the front of the house! I would go back again to try some of their soups in the winter! Parking: Parking lot. It was not busy so easy to get a spot. Wheelchair accessibility: They have wheelchair entrance but you have to talk to the staff so that they can open the 2nd door.
Would never have know this place was there, my son knows things. Traveled from newburyport. Will make the journey again. A hidden gem the food was special, thank you
