Pomodoro Pizzeria Trattoria

Pomodoro was a gem. I looked forward to stopping here, a delicious respite along I-95. Great, big, tasty pizzas, delicious, hearty soups, crunchy crust Italian bread served in a big, pretty labeled Italian tomatoes can, cold draft beer, big salads, pastas with fresh clams and other enticing ingredients, the classy, clean marble counter, cloth napkins, and most memorably the super friendly and attentive staff. So sad to stop by a few weeks ago and see it's no longer. Updates?

Not sure how anyone can rate this place less than 5 stars. I'm a Brooklyn raised guy who feels he has the pedigree to know good from bad. I happened to be passing through the town and was dying for a good slice. When I walked in and saw the dough I could tell it was absolutely top notch. I ordered a Margherita slice and an eggplant roll. Best dough, best sauce. Now I know why ppl brag about CT pizza. Go without hesitation and enjoy!

Second time I have ordered take out from Pomodoro and not received what I ordered. So disappointing. Last time I spent 20 mins on hold waiting to speak to the manager who graciously offered me a credit which never materialized. This time I ordered Pizzetta Dolcetto Nutella pizza, cannoli cream and powdered sugar $12.00) for dessert and received a pizza crust drenched in nutella no cannoli cream at all not even a hint. Not even going to bother calling because there is no point. Sad that it is always a hit or miss at this place because the food is generally quite good if you actually get what you order, that is!!! Wasted $12. Threw it away. :

What a great find—this charming little neighborhood gem is conveniently located just off I-95. The place is impeccably clean, and the service is friendly and efficient. However, the highlight really is the food. I ordered a Greenwich salad, not expecting much, but it turned out to be the BEST SALAD I HAVE EVER HAD. Seriously. The combination of flavors was so delightful that it hardly needed the delicious fresh dressing. The balance of warm chicken and bacon contrasted perfectly with the cool greens. It was a substantial salad (perfect for someone with a big appetite), and I savored every bite. I also noticed that the rest of the menu looked fantastic, as many families were picking up takeout. I would absolutely recommend this place!

Still the best pizza ever! Restaurants come and go, but they remain strong. Thanks, Pomodoro!
