We dropped late on Sunday morning. The café was full, waitress immediately approached and informed us that there would be a short waiting time. After about 15 minutes we sat. The café layout is modern with an open kitchen and a common table among many other single tables. The menu was not huge, but enough variety in it. Service was little slow to take our order, but meals and drinks arrived immediately. Food was pleasant and currently good. My only criticism is that they would not allow any changes to the menu, not even change a fried egg to choke.
I love this place! I went three times a week, then a little back, so I didn't look too scenic. All we have tried so far was delicious: steel cut porridge with lemon crumbled and maple crumbs; Railway Mabel (powder pork with big accompaniments); Multigrain toast with jam; crabs okonomyaki (yum); Fries with Hollandaise sauce; as well as big coffee, juices, brownies, cakes, the lot! The coffee is excellent. The whole food is great (especially chocolate and peanut butter brownie). The staff is friendly and helpful, the setting clean and bright, and the prices very reasonable. This place blossoms: always very busy with families, couples and groups of friends. We usually spend between $40-$50 on brunch with coffee for two. I recommend Mabel Jones!
This place has recently been visited for breakfast, breakfast is served all day, good variety, beautiful coffee. Can be occupied, but one of the most beautiful cafés in the area
Joining the ever growing list of eateries in the area, offeringa diverse menu selection for those looking to sample something a little different from the usual cuisine, if be it the Steak sandwich of Kangaroo fillet,or Crispy Quail, served withSweet baby peas Smoked Polenta Chips with a double Chicken Jus.or perhaps the Zucchini Flower Tempura. All offering a healthy presence, be it from the Breakfast or Luncheon Menu. There is also a tempting selection of Cakes Pastries on offer for a quick Coffee break. It may be subjective, but having dined there, will be back.
