This place used to be a 11 10. Now they 're just meh . The setting is gorgeous, that hasn 't changed. They 've gone through a number of chefs over the last few years. The current menu is salmon, chicken, burger, pasta, the basics for pretty high prices. They used to have incredible dishes (old favorite was a General Tso 's Cauliflower) that sadly haven 't lasted the turnover in kitchen staff. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly. The hostess that day was a grump who wouldn 't even look me in the eye and gave me grief over being seated when my whole family wasn 't there but arrived 15 minutes later. They also used to have a bounce house upstairs and free childcare for kids while the adults ate. They converted the space into wedding event space. Alas, it was too good to last. All that said, this place is still a frequent haunt for us given 1) you can usually get a table, 2) the food is good enough, and 3) the Okemo crowds don 't seem to go here as much.
This restaurant is very spacious, open and nicely lit. The greeting upon entry was warm. The playlist was eclectic and had a lot of upbeat songs. The food did not check all the boxes. The fried chicken was all white and delicious and the batter was light and crispy. The fries were excellent! The quesadilla was a disappointing blow to my pallate. I felt awful introducing that to my stomach. The Onion soup was salty and lukewarm, and the bread was soggy. The service was Excellent! Sarah was gracious and prompt. The bathroom had me fooled because I was unsure of where I was. Upon entering the area I saw lockers and for a moment, I forgot that the restaurant is on a golf course. Don't make the same mistake as me.
Server was uniformed. When asked about wine he stated he was recovering and figures wine probably tastes like grape juice. Had a child with us that had a significant egg allergy. We do realize that this can be an issue and it’s not the restaurants fault, but the server and kitchen couldn’t seem to communicate to explain what would be a safe choice for him. The food was a little bland, but came quickly enough. We were surprised that there were so many places that you couldn’t get a seat at after skiing all day on Okemo that we were able to walk in and sit down at an open table. This place has potential, but they need to up their staff a bit if they can. It’s like their are trying too hard to be upscale with staff and a menu that can’t keep up with it. I’d say, ‘fair’ would be a good rating.
Great beer selection from the region. An excellent stop for dinner on a brewery tour. Great service.
