Contribuisci feedbackKorean and Italian gastronomy in Lübeck city centre I had already presented you as a country kitchen. Of course, there are also providers of Indian cuisine on the Old Town Island, where the Masala Darbar from July 2018 has remained very positive. Many different small restaurants have already seen these premises in the Aegidienstraße in recent years, which have usually kept very short. With the “Masala Darbar” the Indian cuisine has now settled there, which from its aromas appeals to me personally. Outside view. With the interior construction, you have definitely put yourself into the stuff. Very cozy and with oriental flair you do not feel like in a typical small snack. Interior view. The very friendly, open-minded and communicative (problemless in German staff contributed to the well-being atmosphere. Also worth mentioning is the extended lunch offer: This card is valid from 12 17 and even on weekends. The Indian cuisine tells me very much with its very intensive and varied use of spices and aromas (on high degrees of sharpness, on the other hand, I personally can dispense more; . These flavors nevertheless give the vegetarian dishes a strong taste, which usually comes in the kitchens of many other countries without meat or fish less. So my expectation and hope was that here too you will live out this joy in seasoning. On a Saturday noon I chose the famous “Palak Paneer Thali” with spinach and the Indian cheese for only 5.5 €. In addition, a nicely loose rice, some naan bread, lentils, a small salad and a sweetly juicy sauce were served. “Palak Paneer Thali” The presentation in a metal shell segmented to a canteen may initially irritate. But that's exactly what makes a Thali meal in India. Even if this doesn't seem to be a noble one for our feelings, I can still gain the advantage that you can try the individual components for yourself and then combine them with your own gusto. The spinach mixed with the cheese was, as hoped, spiced to a certain extent and thus by no means faded. I also liked the two sauces, which were very interested with their sweet, but also sour and pungent note. Here, too, the young serving gentleman was open to my demand and told me that it was a mango and also a plum sauce. I was even given a suggestion. So this vegetarian dish was definitely successful and above all the sauce combination will remain in good memory. The size of the portion was certainly somewhat clear, in view of the price of 5,5€ at the time, but appropriate. At the courts outside the lunch card, they should, hopefully, be somewhat larger. With me, the “Masala Darbar” has left a really good impression and is a successful Indian restaurant/Bistro for me. In contrast to the previous locals, it has still been held today, which certainly also speaks for the popularity and acceptance of the Lübeckers and tourists.
