Central Cafe Luneburg

Stopped by the Central Cafe, in Luneburg, for an evening meal with family. It is a pub and restaurant (not a cafe as the name suggests) in the center of Luneburg and is very popular, so book to ensure a table. The menu is good and reasonably price and the quality very good for the price. It is certainly cheaper to eat here without reducing the good quality. The staff appear friendly and helpful and the decor fitting for the place. Its usually packed but the staff will try their best to get you in. Main meal is around 8 to 10 euros but is all you will probably want due to the size of the meal. Trendy place to spend an evening. I will be going again.

This place has been around, and we tend to go back when visiting as it is big enough to not be too crowded during lunch time. Food is standard fare, but decently priced. Coffee is as good as in any other place but the size is such that you don't feel crowded. They also have a courtyard, should you want to sit outside (on sunny days anyway). If people watching is your thing, you could of course also sit outside on the (pedestrian) street. along with many others, again when the weather is nice. The "Schroederstrasse" is one of the key places to see and be seen, so join the crowd and watch Lueneburg go by.

Cafe Central is a must visit for us when we are in Luneburg. Typical German food, the bratkartoffel with 3 fried eggs is excellent with a great salad on the side. Hearty portions and good value.

I stopped for a few beers on a Sunny Saturday Afternoon. Central location allowed for great people watching and the service was fine as I was in no hurry. I did not have any food here.
