Ristorante Metamorphosis - Lugano

Bei unserem Luganoausflug wollten wir am Abend schön essen gehen. Wir hatten erst ein anderes Restaurant im Fokus, welches jedoch ausgebucht war. Wegen der interessanten Karte entschieden wir uns für das ,,Metamorphosis". Dies war eindeutig die richtige Entscheidung. Unser Platz an der Terasse wurde uns so zurecht gestellt, das wir einen Blick auf den See hatten. Da wir zu früh waren, nahmen wir einen Apero, dazu erhielten wir von dem freundlichem Service Chips und Oliven. Die Speisekarte ist nicht riesig, dafür sind gut ausgewählte Gerichte und Lebensmittel von hoher Qualität vorhandem (z.B. Imberikon).Wir entschieden uns 2x für das 5-Gangmenü für je 85.- und wurden überrascht. Nach 2 Amouse Bouche wurden uns die 5 Gänge serviert, plus einen Sorbetgang. Das Menü war spannend, abwechslungsreich und die Teller schön und modern angerichtet. Die einzelnen Komponenten ergaben bei jedem Gang ein fantastisches Geschmackserlebniss. So ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhälniss gibt es selten und wir wurden den ganzen Abend gut bedient. Ein guter Koch und ein tolles Team sind im Metamorphosis am Werk, wir sind begeistert! I had ordered 5 tasting menu and 3 wine pairing. Overall it was such a great experience and i was very satisfied with the food and service. Food was creative with nice presentation as well as everything tasted good. With amuse bouches and everything that...had been served, I was pretty full. Staffs are very enthusiastic and attentive. So, i strongly recommend this place.

We had a fab meal here Sept 1. Two complimentary appetizers black potatoes with truffle cream, and a mini beef tartar sandwich. Both were superb. Additionally we had a mini freshly baked white loaf which was fantastic. We both went with one of the...specials of the day lobster which was perfectly cooked. Plus the staff we had were great. Super friendly and very accommodative to our son's requirements. Overall a high end and high quality place. Definitely top of my repeat list and would highly recommend it to visitors and locals alike.

I was really looking forward to dinner at this restaurant. Food: I got the 5 course tasting menu. The food was very good. The portions are large, and the whole table left feeling full. The courses were well paced and got increasingly larger as they...progressed. They are happy to accommodate your dietary preferences for the tasting menu, to some extent. The food was well prepared and came out looking fabulous. The flavors were wonderful. We loved the food here. However, we inquired about pairing the food with wine. They did not seem to comprehend the notion, the wait staff did not understand wine at all and were of very little help in guiding us. This was both surprising and disappointing. Ambiance: Modern and wonderful, the entryway of the restaurant is spectacular. We loved the modern touches and the ambiance. However, we were one of three large tables occupied all evening, and the restaurant seem to lack spirit and seemed dead. Service: I thought the service here was average to bad. I arrived early, before the larger group, with the thought of getting a cocktail. The bar outside was open but the bartender seemed reluctant to serve me anything unless I had a reservation. Admittedly, I did not know the name on the reservation, or the party size or any detail for that matter, and he kept badgering me with questions until I asked if I should get a cocktail or leave. There was not a soul at the bar or the restaurant. As mentioned above, the staff know very little about the wine. They seemed to be going through the motions, not warm or friendly. Yes they were attentive but there was something missing. The tasting menu is great and well priced. However, the service can be a lot better.

I believe everything is matching in the restaurant, from the concept, welcome, food and the service. I was really glad to try the creations of Chef Luca and his team, everything make sense including the explanations from the waiter. Is such an enjoyable travel of...taste when you try the food and specially the tasting menu, amazing flavors and presentation, you will be full and more than satisfied but you still want to try more and more, exactly the same feeling when you're on an adventure. All the food is delicate and balance in flavor, the wine was exceptional and I appreciate so much that they ask you for our preferences makes all the tasting so personal but at the same time something new to see and try. I enjoyed so much, I hope I can visit again the restaurant is such a beautiful please for the eyes and mouth, you can relax during your food experience doesn't matter if you are going for lunch or dinner, any time will be the correct time to have a food experience, the atmosphere is simple beautiful.
