I visited as a group of 4. we were handed over our food without serviettes, utensils or tartaric acid sauce for fish. the cashier took the order of the next couple in the line, so after they put their order, I said, excuse me and the...cashier said she was with me in a minute. So I was waiting while this couple counted the exact change for their order to pay. in the meantime, eating my group is getting cold and we need to wait to fork, serviettes and weetic acid sauce to eat it with! Maybe they should end up serving a customer before they try to get the next money. not only was it completely ridiculous to pass on without serviettes and utensil food to eat with fish, but also said to wait, even though the serviettes and utensils were in their immediate richness and they could have easily passed over to me while the few counted changes. the healthy sense is really not so mean! to supplement insulting, the fish were added to fat and was completely broken, it was not fresh and seemed to have been frozen before, and it seemed that the fries had been boiled in the same oil as a burned/stranded taste. it was disgusting! there are many other alternatives located directly in the city to avoid this location.
Stopped in for a burger, expected a tasty simple burger. What I got was an employee who took my cash, and proceeded to haul out a precooked burger ad toss it on a warm (no sizzle) flat top without washing her hands. The interior of...the trailer looked like it needed a good scrubbing. This was not an enjoyable stop, nor would I return or recommend Nellie's to anyone.
A Lunenburg staple, not to be missed if you want decent tasty food, quickly served and affordable. Just west (300 meters? of the junction of the road from Mahone Bay where it meets the main road into town. Big trailer in the old rope factory...parking lot; can't be missed. Although fish dishes are a specialty (my opinion I had a rather good homemade cheeseburger that hit the spot. My colleagues had scallop burgers and the fish and chips all very good. A couple of picnic table right beside, but otherwise it's take out. Probably not so popular should it be raining, fortunately it was very pleasant when we were there!
Clams worst ive ever had, they deep fried them until they were transformed into rock hard rubber bands. will never come back. overpriced and overcooked!
