The food was excellent. the price was a bit high. the atmosphere was great. my wife has lived in wittenberg for a few weeks and visited another restaurant every night. we still have to find a bad restaurant, but we are selective where we...go there are many good restaurants in lutherstadt wittenberg and that is one of them.
We decided to eat in the golden eagle (golden eagle) a business that has been drinking since luther's time and a place where he and cranach the older ones have their brew. the only waitress had a lot to handle, and after she salat on a table of ten, and drink on two other tables and broth, she finally took our order. it was warm enough that I even came out my sandals and wore them in the inner city a few girls in bright dresses led the away.) the women in Germany quickly put their business suits aside and put their sunglasses as soon as the weather guarantees. the evening meal was started with wine and bruschetta, which was delicious and did not contain a cheese grateful. then our main course was abandoned. I had the coq au vin-two drumsticks and a thigh in a delicious sauce with carrots and wobbles, which fell apart on a touch. bob had really delicious medaillons of calf meat. we had our choice of accompaniment and we chose criminal potatoes and they came in a big bowl. I couldn't eat anything. for dessert we had a tasty plate of obst accompanied by a dish of warm chocolate and baileys cream including drachenfruit, which the first time I had eaten it. the court also had a vanilleeis vanillaeis. the interior bathroom were clean and without fee (I have learned to get a euro before I go into it.)
Arrived in Wittenberg late and found the Goldener Adler convenient for a fast meal. The Goldener Adler is owned by the Brauhaus Wittenberg next door. The food and craft beer are the same. My wild venison stew was O.K. My wife's Wurst soup, meant to...be a meal, was a whole Wurst stuck in a potatoe sludge without flavor. The beer, brewed next door at the Brauhaus, was the best part of the meal. Both the Goldener Adler and the Brauhaus Wittenberg are very touristy. We have been to Wittenberg many times and know the city well. There is far better traditional German cuisine to be found elsewhere in Wittenberg tucked away on side streets and hidden courtyards. None of these have been reviewed yet on TripAdvisor
