After renovation and relocation of the bakery, it is now a hidden gem with its cosy atmosphere enhanced by elegant chesterfield lounges and turkish rugs. The coffee is good and it has a satisfyingly varied range of tasty gluten free delicacies. I've noticed that a number of community groups such as Bosom Buddies, and walking groups seem to gather there regularly for a coffee and catch up too.
A good but not great place to go. Deek has done a good job promoting healthy eating and healthy lifestyles, but I think this has narrowed the appeal of his eateries. It is a pleasant place to go and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I say enjoy if you are invited to go there... but there are other places I would go to in preference. NOT BAD.. just not my style.
If you are looking for a peaceful atmosphere, good coffee, and friendly service, this is the place to visit. They offer a variety of delicious cakes and great coffee. Additionally, you can also purchase groceries here, making it a unique dining experience.
I ordered a gluten free chocolate mud cake for my husband's birthday from Deeks. The guy on the phone was so helpful. I was expecting to have to drive to Pearce after work to collect it, though I was told I could pick it up from their bakery at Fyshwick (much closer for me). It turned out that he lives in my area and 'offered' to drop it off for me on his way home. This was a god send as my son was home from school sick that day. To top off the amazing service, the cake was the best. The flavour of the almond flour really comes through and just makes the cake so much more tastier. It was moist and yummy! It cost around $60 - well worth it. I recommend this cake even for non gluten intolerant people.
This place is more like a coffee shop than a restaurant, with tables available inside or out in the sunny courtyard. The staff, particularly Raj, are friendly and helpful, and they offer delicious food items. It's worth noting that popular items like fruit buns tend to sell out quickly, so it's recommended to call ahead if you have your heart set on them. This spot is perfect for enjoying a hot drink and a sweet treat, but if you're looking for a substantial meal, be aware that their lunch options may include microwaved pies.
