We got food to go twice while in the area. Everything was pretty good except the fried okra. It just tasted off. Maybe freezer burnt or the oil it's cooked in needs to be changed. Either way, the second time I went, I swapped fried okra for the macaroni and cheese with bacon and was much happier. Their biscuits, cornbread, carrots and chicken and dumplings were all pretty good.
Food was excellent! Our waitress had a attitude and I had to speak with the manager, who was very nice and helpful. Before leaving I was able to speak with our waitress and explain the importance of customer service and being kind. She received it well and I felt like I made a difference in her day. She still got a good tip!!
We stopped by on our way home and discovered some nice gifts for my mom in the shop. The food was good, but the waitress could have been a bit friendlier. She made me feel uncomfortable about asking for anything. We needed more drinks and had to ask someone else for a to-go box since we rarely saw our waitress. I didn't catch her name. However, the rest of the staff was very kind and helpful.
After a long 10-hour journey, we decided to stop for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by our experience. The manager was friendly and kindly allowed us to stay overnight in our RV. Our meal was fantastic, and our waitress was both welcoming and professional. The next morning, I went in to grab some coffee before breakfast, but they were out of to-go cups. I quickly ran back to the RV to fetch my own cup, and they found it amusing, offering me coffee for two instead. Our breakfast turned out to be just as delightful as dinner.
