Came for lunch with a big group (20+ people). The service was a bit slow given so many people orders, it took a while for the food to come out. The quality of the food overall was good, the pasta were nice, just right texture, served with a good sauce, and with decent size amount of seafood/meat/mushrooms. The fish dishes (salmon special john dory) were cooked well, and generous size fillets. Despite the generous portion sizes, prices are quite steep for lunch in the suburbs, the larger size pastas just under $30, salmon special was $30+. Decor was also a bit dreary. Overall, not really value for money, but without many quality options in the vicinity, it will continue to be a popular choice in the area.
This place is an absolute hidden treasure. chanced upon this many years ago for a birthday and it was a hit. perhaps there is a small element of nostalgia that keeps this a certain favourite. best Italian in the area. if it werent for its location it would have many more customers. Prices aren't too bad for the huge sizes and I am definitely prepared to fork out extra for a meal so delicious. Almost everything I've ordered has been pleasing (except the chicken w sundried tomato pasta dish I can't recall the details of was too oily and got sickening quickly). It takes a good cook for me to rave about pasta I absolutely adore pasta and have eaten too much **** in my time. desserts are small but not bad. service varies from nice to very helpful and ambience is pretty good but really i come here for the food and would be happy with the food alone. that's telling of a good restaurant. i dont come here nearly as enough as I should considering how much i'm raving about this place. only thing (besides the location) i would have a gripe with is there aren't enough cold drinks selections (esp for a cafe).
True Gem. Fourno is my 'go to ' regular. It 's not OMG amazing, but it provides a good and consistent standard of food and service in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. The fare is probably best described as Mediterranean, offering pizza, pasta and seafood. I often have the grilled octopus as a main and my partner loves the calamari fritters. These are entrée dishes but we have them as mains served with salad and chips. The proprietors are Greek and I wished they 'd do full on Greek dishes. But what you will get at Fourno is well presented tasty food which they produce consistently. And Vicki and George will go out of their way to accommodate you. There 's a lot of restaurateurs that could learn a thing or two by dining here.
Really like it. Great value for money, decent portions. Seafood platter is grilled, BBQ and the best for $45Great service, very friendly owner and staff
