At Avenida del Libertador there are actually two branches of this café. We went to the original. El Calafate was actually much warmer than expected, so we made a point to treat ourselves to some good quality ice cream. Service was terrible. You spent more time talking to yourself than fulfilling our orders. When we went there for the second visit and tried to use their toilets, we were faced with some bad employees who asked us rudely to buy something first. When we commented that we were going and that we were there yesterday, they were standing there in total unbelief and watching how we used the facilities. First we thought it was a language barrier problem, but it was clearly poor customer service. The ice selection was very good, especially the dulce de leche and calafate varieties. You can choose your sizes, but usually, a cup that contains two different flavors will suit you. I would usually choose a cream-based variety and a fruit-based variety to meet the right balance. The prices are about USD $10 for two flavors, definitely not affordable by any stretch of imagination, but note that it serves handcrafted ice cream. Go for the ice, but do your best to ignore the extremely bad customer service.
