Picoceano - Madalena

After a long day of exploring Pico, my friend and I stopped in and were treated to some of the best steaks we'd had on the island. Our server was incredibly kind, and she gave us great recommendations based on our tastes. I would definitely come here again!

This modest restaurant served the very best of the many fine meals we had, while visiting several Azores Islands. Our fish was expertly prepared and seasoned with crisp skin and hot, flaky flesh. Saffron rice with local garnishes. Local butters with an unexpected twist. Multi faceted chocolate dessert was delicious and shared because the generous appetizer and main portions had us feeling very full. If we had found this restaurant before our last night on Pico we would have returned. I would love to have tried the lunchtime buffet, which had very good reviews.

I'm a chef, but this was a master. The osso bucco was beyond anything i could dream of. Moaning at every bite. pickled onions, the wine sauce, the yam, all perfection. But the banana cake with peanut ice cream, smothered in salty caramel, stuff dreams are made of! Brilliance!!! I don't know what else to say other than, people leaving bad reviews must be irritable, unhappy people to begin with!

O atum e espadarte grelhado estavam bastante bons, peixe fresco, saboroso e dose bastante generosa com acompanhamentos de saladas em buffet. Empregrado simpatico e atencioso. No entanto, o espaço é bastante tristonho e depressivo, quase como um velório, sem qualquer musica ou barulho de fundo e azul a mais. Preços normais para pico 15€-20€ por prato.

We loved it. The terrace has an outstanding view on the sunset behind faila. The grilled Fish (Thuna baracuda) was on piont, juicy, tender and very tastefull. The Service was very friendly and carefully. We'll come back soon.
