The next day, I ordered the lobster benedict (a special not on the menu) and savored a generous portion of fresh local lobster. For our third visit, we started with lobster bisque and clam chowder, followed by the fried ice cream for dessert. Each time we dined there, the experience was excellent, thanks to the friendly and attentive staff. We highly recommend Cristy’s!
The pancake selection was impressive, and I was tempted by many of them. I ended up choosing the macadamia nut chocolate chip pancake. According to the menu, all pancakes are served with powdered sugar and butter, and syrup is available on the table. What you get is a huge pancake that takes up the entire plate. Although I'm not a pancake connoisseur and usually can't eat much because they're so filling, I found this one to be delicious — really tasty! I can't speak for the table syrup since I used homemade maple syrup from our friend’s neighbor in Vermont, which was a great addition. I also ordered a side of the chubby sausage links (two per order), but I barely made a dent in them with the enormous pancake. I ended up taking some home. My husband chose the Philly cheesesteak omelet, served with home fries. It was also quite large, so he took half of it home. It seems like most diners end up taking leftovers since they have to-go containers ready to hand out. Our friends ordered the California Eggs Benedict and a sausage pancake (he certainly has a big appetite!), while his wife enjoyed two poached eggs served alongside a slice of French toast. The only disappointment was the French toast; they both mentioned it had a somewhat grainy texture. We only happened to be in the area for the holiday; otherwise, it's a two-hour drive for us so we likely won't return soon. However, if you're near Madison, I definitely recommend giving this place a try. It's a comforting spot for a meal, especially if you enjoy breakfast foods!
I visited this restaurant on a busy summer Saturday to celebrate my birthday, and I had a fantastic experience! Although there was a line out the door, it moved fairly quickly, and we were seated in about 20 minutes as a party of five. I really appreciated how customizable the menu was; the bacon was wonderfully crispy, and the pancake portion was just right. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and I especially loved the cute little prosecco bottle that accompanied the mimosa. I will definitely return to sample some of their lunch options!
The breakfast, especially the wide selection of pancakes and the corned beef hash, was fantastic. However, dinner was a letdown—it was quite bland.
I went to this restaurant for brunch with my family and made a reservation since it tends to get quite busy. We arrived around 10 AM and were seated promptly. The interior is cozy, with many tables closely arranged. Our group of six was met with very friendly service. I ordered the eggs Benedict with avocado, which was absolutely delicious. Others at the table tried the steak and eggs, along with a few other dishes, and everyone really enjoyed their meals overall.
